We welcomed a few new members into our family yesterday. They are fairly quiet and have yet to cause too much trouble. The kids are enamored with them and would spend all day staring at them and holding them, but the baby chicks do need to sleep sometimes too.
Emily went with me to pick them out and was put in charge of naming them. Hers is the taller of the yellow ones, (A Buff Orpington if you are interested), and the squawkiest of them all. She named her....drum-roll please.....Super Princess To The Rescue. We call her Super for short and she is a trouble maker. The other yellow one is named Lemon. Apple and Buttercup (the smallest) are Barred Plymouth Rocks and will be black and white striped when they grow up.
Ty will be building them a coop soon but for now they are much too little to be outside for very long. They currently reside in my laundry room in their toasty little rubbermaid tote.
Some day they will give us lots of fresh eggs and help me keep the bugs out of my vegetable garden, but for now they are just some fun entertainment for the whole family.

How freakin sweet! I am SO unbelievable jealous! I am sure you will all have tons of fun with them and enjoy more eggs than you can possibly eat!
