We went to the Estes park Winter Festival while we were in town. Em's favorite part was the ice castle that the kids could walk through. This is not surprising since her dream is to be a princess. Our favorite part was the chili cook-off and wine and beer tasting.
We also saw lots of deer and elk while we were there. Here Em is whispering and waving to the deer that are waaaaaaay back in the field behind her. She is pertty sure they heard her.
This little man was a crazy one all weekend. I am a little spoiled by the child-proofed houses we are usually in and this cabin was not. He tried unsuccessfully to crack his head on the stone hearth to the fireplace several times. He also opened every drawer and cupboard in the kitchen pulling out all of their contents before we could stop him. I finally just let him walk around with a set of mixing beaters since they kept him out of things for a few minutes until he tried to pull off the tablecloth with all of our food on it and climbed up and fell out of a kitchen chair. Thank goodness for high chairs where you can strap them down for a little bit. Someday we will have a relaxing vacation again. Right???
