A Festive Weekend

Saturday Dec. 6th A Parade

Saturday night we went to our town's Christmas, "Festival of Lights," parade. Apparently this is a popular event and pretty much the entire city turned up to pack themselves onto the sidewalks of Tejon. Luckily we thought ahead and got there early enough to get a good spot. Oh wait, that wasn't us, that was the people sitting in their comfy camp chairs in front of us while we tried to not let Emily kick them in the back of the head as we held her up to get a glimpse of the parade.

As you can see moving around wasn't really an option.

"Dad, if one more of those trucks honk their horns I am outta here!"

"Emily, why do they insist on bringing us to these things?" "I dunno Jules, they won't even let us down to go play with the doggies walking down the street. "

At least there was one happy baby there that night. Riley, all snug as a bug in her bear suit was awake long enough to say hi and then slept soundly through the cheers, whistles, horns, and noise that made up the Palmer H.S. marching band.

Oh, and did I mention that our friend Kim who was also at the parade with us was in labor the whole time. Several times the phrase, "if you're in labor should you be at a parade," was heard, followed by someone shrugging their shoulders and looking to see if we could even get out of the crowd if we had to.

Sunday Dec. 7th Christmas Tree Shopping

"Hey guys, what about this one?"

"Who cares about the trees, did you see all of this mud?"

And the winner is.....

Also on Sunday, baby Everett Hanou was born!
