We decided to take advantage of a very nice 3 day weekend, to finally baby-proof our house. So of course this required a trip to babies r' us to get baby-proofing gear since our little one is now all over the place. A few hundred dollars later we were all set. It really only took Ty about half an hour to get the gates set up and outlet cover inserted. Our house is now safe from Emily, or she is safe from our house. I am not sure which one is more appropriate. Although, as soon as we put up the new gates she showed us a few more places that need to be baby proofed. I never knew that the little crack between the couch and the wall was going to be such a temptation for her.
She is curious about the new gates that are blocking her from having free reign over the house but she really doesn't pay too much attention to them. It is actually our dog that is having the hardest time getting used to them. She hasn't yet figured out how to use them even when they are open. For now we will keep coaxing her through the scary new devices that are keeping her trapped in different places in the house, in hopes that she will learn soon.
