Troy | 5 Years Old

Dear Troy,

Today you turn 5 years old! Happy birthday Buddy! I still can't believe that my little man is 5 years old. What an incredible 5 year old you are. You are so smart and sweet and handsome. You love playing with Legos and working puzzles. You still want to know how everything works but most times instead of asking now you study it until you figure it out and tell us how it works. You still have the greatest laugh ever and your little brother makes it his mission to keep you laughing. You are a great big brother, most of the time. You share your toys with him and are even patient when he breaks one of your Lego creations. Today you told me you taught him how to give the thumbs up sign and he walked around all day with his thumb in the air. You love your pre-school class and come home telling us about spiders that eat snakes and butterflies hatching during circle time. It is a joy to be your Mom and Dad. You still don't like to rush through life and it is so nice to slow down with you and notice everything around us that we so often miss when you are not here to point it out. That's not to say you always go slow. When you get on your bike or in your go-cart you are the fastest kid around. You are so sweet. You notice when the house is picked up or when one of us looks nice and always mention it. Your teachers love you for this trait too. The other day in the car you asked me if you had to pick just one thing to be when you grow up because you would really like to not have to choose just one thing. "I want to do everything," you said. I hope you always want to do everything and I have no doubt that you will be great at whatever you choose to do. We can't wait to see what this year brings for you, and how much more you will amaze us. We love you to the moon and back one hundred thousand times Little Man.

Love,

Mommy and Daddy
