Jack has been to the zoo plenty of times before. It is, of course, our favorite place to spend a morning and so since he was a newborn in the Baby Bjourn he has been coming to the zoo. On a side note I just remembered that I walked around the zoo all day the day and then went into labor with him 6 hours later too. So now that we have established that Jack has in fact been to the zoo many, many times let me tell you about Jack's first time noticing that he was actually at the zoo....
We started with the giraffes because that is where you start. The fact that these giraffes come right up to you so that you can pet them and feed them has always been a thrill for my kids. jack was no exception. He LOVED the giraffes. He fed them, he talked to them, and then when we said it was time to see some other animals he climbed onto the railing and sat for about 20 minutes just starting at them. The kid is a sucker for tall animals.
But who wouldn't love that cute spotted face and slimy gross tongue?
Next Jack learned that there were things to climb on, under, through, and over at the zoo. Once again he was in heaven.
To top it off we ended with a merry-go-ride and this kid is a total zoo fanatic.
