Last weekend we decided to get out of dodge for awhile (Co. Springs, actually) and spent some time in Denver. While the guys were skiing, Kim and I took the kids to The Denver Children's Museum. Fortunately for us our friend Sara came along also and the extra pair of hands were a HUGE help! This place was awesome! We could have spent the entire trip in just one of the play areas, and there were about 10 different themed areas for the kids to check out. We didn't even make it to all of them. We will be going back for sure.
The first area was all play, with slides and tunnels. It had a little bit of everything and the kids spent their time exploring all there was to do.
The next area was all about art. There were easels on the wall with lots of paint, and tables for coloring and crafts. What fun!
We practiced being fire fighters for a bit and then it was on to the next thing.
The next area was a dance floor with all kinds of dress-up stuff, and even tap shoes which were a big hit. I am pretty sure the girls would have stayed all day at this one but it was getting crowded and Ev was ready to move on.
On to the next room where you could put on a squirrel costume and climb into a tree. Or maybe you were a rabbit climbing into their rabbit hole. The possibilities were endless as the kids played and being little critters.
Enough playing like a rabbit, now they had a chance to pretend shop at a local grocery store. It was so funny to watch Em, she knew just what to do. Fill the cart, then stand in line.
Trains anyone?
And if that wasn't enough there was also a park outside that we just had to play at before heading back home.
Whew. If I was tired (which I was) you know these kiddos were too. Sure enough Emily fell asleep in the car before we even pulled out of the parking lot.
