Sun, Sea, and Sand!

As the summer winds down our little family is still trying to catch our breath. We have had a wonderful summer and we kicked it off with a cruise to Mexico. Thanks to Ty's very generous Grandma, and hardworking Aunt Tange we got to enjoy five days aboard a Carnival Cruise ship with some of Ty's family. This wasn't just Emily's first cruise, Ty and I had never been on one either. We were amazed at how large the ship was, how nice the staff was, and how very good the food was. Let's just say that it is a good thing we don't have a 24 hour pizza and ice cream bar at our house. The weather was beautiful the whole time, and we had a great time exploring the ship (Emily got her sea legs pretty quick) and spending time with family. We got off the ship in Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada. We had a blast driving around Ensenada in a golf cart. We were sad to dock, but fortunately the trip didn't end there.
After the cruise we got to spend five more days in sunny San Diego. We caught up with family that weren't on the cruise and spent time in L.A. with friends. Emily went to the beach for the first time and loved it. She played with the sand, burying her feet and putting it in cups and pouring it out. She didn't want to leave. The next day we went to the SD zoo and spent the day looking at all of the animals and trying to stay cool. It was a great trip and we really enjoyed getting to see all of our friends and family that we hadn't seen in awhile.
