Happy Birthday Emily!

To Our Emmie,

Since you are officially two years old today I started thinking about how quickly time has flown by. I thought you might like to someday look back and read about what you were like as a two year old. The two- year- old Emily loves to be the center of attention. You are silly and sweet and just a little over dramatic at times. You have been known to tell everyone in a room where they can and can't sit, and we all listen to you. You love to help with everything and you are starting to want to do things on your own like getting dressed and putting on your shoes. You are so smart and will work on a problem until you can figure it out and then try it again and again. One of your favorite games is called "Night, Night" and you make everyone pretend to sleep. You would spend all day outside if we let you. You love water and find any excuse to play in it, even washing the dishes for Mommy. You have started speaking in the 3rd person and call yourself "Memmie." You are a little parrot and repeat everything we say. You have made up your own words for things and continue to use them even though you know the real words. An airplane is a "meanie", and umbrellas are "happys." Your favorite word though is "No" and you find many reasons to say it to us each day. You love to snack on cherry tomatoes and edamame. You would eat either rice or pasta everyday if you could, and everything has to be dipped in honey. You give "big hugs" and lots of kisses. Your baby dolls are your favorite toys and all 12 of them have to sleep with you each night. You have started wearing only your "frog shoes" or "kitty cat shoes," both of which are rain boots, everywhere we go. You love to sing and one of your favorites is the "Happy Birthday Song," but you sing the words, "happy birthday goo you." Your best friends are Jules and Holdy and you all love to bounce and dance together. Making mud pies is your speciality, but you also love to help Mommy and Daddy cook in the kitchen. You insist on walking Sara all by yourself, and your favorite job is helping Pa feed the birds. You are growing up way too fast, but we are so proud of the little person you are becoming. You amaze us each day with all that you learn and do. We love you so much baby. Happy 2nd Birthday!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

That is so sweet! I love the picture slide show too! I can't believe how grown up Em looks in some of those pictures. You can really see the little girl she will be one day!
