Visit #1

We have always know that Emily's overly energetic ways might cause some problems now and then. It's not easy running through life at full speed without hitting a few bumps here and there. Well Monday night she definitely hit a bump, or a table I should say. She got the corner of an end table at full speed and thankfully it was well above her eye so there was no injury to her eye. Poor thing, she cried pretty good but about 20 minutes later and a cookie she was all done crying and good to go. Well, except for the fact that we were pretty sure her head needed to be looked at so we took her to Urgent Care and commenced to waiting about 4 hours before we were finally seen. Meanwhile Emily is just running around the waiting room happy as can be, entertaining all of the other people waiting totally oblivious to the gash on her head. The doctor had originally hoped that gluing the wound shut would suffice, but once he got a good look at it, he said it had to be stitches. So, Emily got her first stitches, and we are all amazed that she made it 18 months without needing them. Let's hope the next time is a long, longs ways away because Mommy and Daddy need a break.
